LONDON LANDMARKS




ICT work:
  • We will see some of the popular sites on our trip
  • We will find images of them on the internet


English work:
  • We will research information about them
  • We will make Top Trumps cards for them
  1. Woodlands Junior Project Britain
    Read and find information about many popular landmarks in London.      
  2. St. Mary's Axe (or Gherkin)
    One of the new buildings in London. Some people like it. Others don't.     
  3. The Shard
    What new building is this? The tallest building in London, Europe or the world?
  4. The Shard in the news
    Why was a fox on top of it? Read on Newsround.     


Geography work:
  • We will read maps and  symbols of central London
  • We will learn to read maps with grid references
  • We will learn about London's transport
  • We will get excited about the London 2012 Countdown!

FORCES & MOVEMENT

  • We will learn that most forces are made of pushes and pulls. 
  • We will learn the name of different forces. 
  • We will look at ways to investigate how forces work with vehicles and how to make a fair test.
